This academic year has started well and we are pleased to welcome our new Year 3 children to the school. A huge thank you to the parents for supporting them in the transition and we look forward to working with you all.

We have been celebrating Black History Month throughout October and been taking part in a big art project with HMDT music. We have been working hard at making our curriculum even more representative of all and also improving the diversity of our books. A huge thank you to those that have donated books to us using our wish list from twitter, we really appreciate your support.

What an incredible end to this Year. I am so proud of all the achievements our pupils have made. The Great Get Together was an absolute highlight for me, celebrat-ing the excellent talents and values that our pupils show on a day to day basis.

I would like to take a moment to say thank you to all of my staff for a fantastic year and for all the hard work they have put into each and every day. Also a big thank you to the pupils and their families for your efforts, especially to our Year 6 children. You are going on to a new adventure and all we ask is that you continue to work hard, be yourselves and spread kindness wherever you can.

We would like to wish Ramadan Mubarak and a happy Easter to everyone observing this holy time. Also a belated Happy Holi to those families who celebrated this religious festival recently.

Enjoy the holidays and we hope you are able to spend time with friends, family and loved ones.

This term might have been cold and a bit miserable outside, but at Hillborough we have seen so many amazing moments and successes.

A huge well done and congratulations needs to go to Year 4 pupils and staff on their amazing performance of “Madagascar”. It was wonderful to see everyone on stage enjoying themselves and the acting, singing and dancing was superb. I loved every second and I know that the rest of the school and the parents felt the same. As always, a huge well done to the staff for putting it together, and also to the parents for helping with costumes and learning lines at home. It’s always a great team effort.

We have reached the end of the Autumn term and everyone is excited about the Christmas break. It’s been a busy and exciting term with lots going on, and I would like to say a big thank you to Year 5 for their wonderful performance of The Nutcracker. So much work goes into the plays here and the children and staff did a fantastic job on our Christmas production. Well done!

Another big thank you must go to all of the children who took part in Hillborough’s Got Talent! This is one of our favourite events of the year where the children can show their own special skills and talents and perform in front of the whole school. We had some amazing acts and a very well done to the winners. A special thank you to Mrs Lalji who auditions everyone and puts together the acts and the whole show, with the help of some other staff too.

I would like to wish you all a safe and restful break and I hope you enjoy spending time with your families. Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year!
